METHOD
1. Place eggs in a small saucepan and add enough cold water to cover them.

2. Bring the water up to the boil over medium/high heat and when the water begins to boil, turn heat to medium/low and start a timer.

3. For soft-boiled eggs, boil gently for 3 minutes – for hard-boiled, cook for 5 minutes.

4. Cut soft-boiled eggs in half with a sharp knife and scoop out the egg with a teaspoon.

5. Peel hard-boiled eggs while holding them under cold running water.
